A rebranded Russian-language channel of the Georgian Public Broadcaster, Perviy Informatsionniy Kavkazsky (PIK) (First Caucasus News), formerly known as the First Caucasian Channel is to launch broadcasts on January 25.
According to the TV management the TV company is going to have its own bureaus in Yerevan, Baku, Kiev and Moscow. The work is being on to set up bureaus in Washington and Iran.
On January 25 at 6 pm PIK is to organize a TV bridge – President to Answer People’s Questions. Media representatives and the population are going to enjoy a second chance to pose questions live to the President of Georgia.
According to Robert Parsons, Director General, with the launch of the broadcasts President’s appearance on the channel is important. Due to the lack of the staff to carry out this large-scale project PIK hired journalists from other channels, Robert Parsons said.
