“Our project is intended for users of IPhone and SmartPhone, who can send information on accidents happening in different parts of the city to one common platform in case they witness such,” says Nanyan. “We still have much to do. Now we have all we could  prepare within  a day, says “iSun” programmer Arev Tunyan, who was awarded the incentive prize for developing a project in a 24-hour period.

Journalist Gayane Mirzoyan of the “Journalists for the Future” NGO, too, took part in the competition with a proposal to create a hyper-local website of civic journalism.  According to the author the website will consist of sections representing the communities of Yerevan, where information will be posted by the community residents.

“There are issues of local interest. For example, which kindergarten is more convenient to take the child to, or when the repairing of water supply system will be completed,” says Gayane, adding that this way residents of the same community will help each other to get answers to such questions.
