On September 6, Journalists for the Future NGO organized a conference entitled “Copyright issues in Armenian online media: legislation and self-regulation” and invited all the stakeholders to promote more productive activities and ways of development acceptable for the media community to eliminate the issues in this field.
The conference agenda included self-regulation mechanisms of online media on copyright and the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Copyright and Related Rights which were represented by Arpine Hovhannisyan, co-author of the law, Member of RA Parliament.
The conference was part of the “Promoting Online Media Self-regulation in Armenia” project supported by the OSCE Office in Yerevan. Within the framework of this project, a two-day seminar discussion “Online Journalism Issues and Challenges in Armenia” was held on June 8-9. It is planned also to publish an online journalist’s guidebook which will contain technical, legal and other professional advisory content necessary for online media.
