The Tehran court accused the Iranian journalist Zhila Bani Yagub in actions directed against national interests of country and sentenced her for 1 year of jail, says “Media Forum” web-site.
The court also prohibited Zhila Bani Yagub doing any journalistic activity for 30 years.
Zhila Bani Yagub was arrested alongside with her husband Bahman Ahmadi Hamui for mass demonstrations after the presidential elections in June, 2009. After 2 months in jail, the journalist was released temporally, but her husband was sentenced for 5 years.
The lawyer of the journalist Farida Heyred was surprised with the decision of the court: “Don’t those, who took away the right of journalistic activity from Zhila for 30 years, think how she should live?”
