3-day journalism seminar on war reporting finished on December 14. The seminar was organized under Georgian Media Assistance Program. The Program is financed by European Union; it’s implemented by WAN/IFRA, IREX-Europe, Georgian Regional Media Association and Civil Development Institute.
Journalists learned the specifics of covering the wars, civil unrests and accidents; they also discussed the safety requirements that journalists must observe while working in the conflict zones.
The invited trainer, Nicholas Nugent has been working as a journalist for more than 30 years. He worked for BBC in various “hot zones”. Journalist Nini Zhizhilashvili was invited as a co-trainer. Besides going through theory materials, the journalists also did some practical work, they also watched educational films concerning the war reporting.
“Those who attended this training will not make thoughtless mistakes” – Nino Zhizhilashvili said.
