Research Fellowship for Journalists Open

European journalists interested in pursuing in-depth research projects can apply for a fellowship.

Sponsored by the Institute for Human Sciences (IMW), the Milena Jesenská Fellowship enables journalists who write about culture to take time out of the newsroom for research projects.

Fellows receive a EUR€7,500 stipend (about US$10,000) and spend three months at IWM in Vienna, Austria. Travel grants of up to EUR€1,900 (about US$2,500) can be paid for research trips to neighboring countries.

Applicants must have several years of experience in print, broadcast or online journalism. Project proposals must be in English.

European journalists from both in and outside the EU-27 can apply. Applications are also accepted from journalists in Turkey, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The application deadline is February 15.
