Are you a journalist from Armenia or Georgia? Do you have basic skills in mobile reporting? Do you feel the need to get additional skills and learn the latest techniques for recording, editing, and streaming over-the-air video clips in just a few minutes? Are you looking for international contacts to exchange your experiences and expand your network?

If yes, apply for our summer school in Aghveran from September 25 to 30. Seven Trainers from Armenia, Georgia, Germany and Ukraine will provide a training for 30 journalists from Armenia and Georgia in mobile reporting as well as on journalistic topics and challenges. The summer school is provided by the Berlin Journalism School in cooperation with the Armenian NGO “Journalists For the Future”. It is supported by the German Federal Foreign Office under the program “Strengthening Cooperation with Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership Countries”.

Participation in the summer school is free of charge, travel expenses and accommodation costs are taken.

Application is open to English-speaking journalists of all ages with at least one year of professional experience from Armenia and Georgia.

Please apply by submitting a cover letter on both your professional background and the reasons for your application. Tell us if you use an Android smartphone or ios-systems (Iphone oder Ipad).

Also describe in a few words your experience in mobile reporting/making films (if any) with your camera and how the training in mobile reporting would help you in your future work.

Furthermore, we need a detailed curriculum vitae, if possible a proof of your knowledge of English and a confirmation by your employer that you are working as a journalist and they would give you five days off in case you are chosen for the summer school. If you are a freelancer, please let us know.

Send these documents only via e-mail (pdf, in total not more than 5 MB) to [email protected] not later than September 4, 2018.

If you have further questions, do not hesitate to contact Clemens Schöll, head of the program [email protected].
