In 2012, on the Day of International Right to Know, the Journalists for the Future NGO was recognized as the best NGO in Armenia that used the right for access to information. The NGO was awarded a certificate and a symbolic golden key. The “Golden Key and Rusty Lock” award ceremony was organized by the Freedom of Information Center in Armenia. More available here.

Ditaket.am regional journalism platform created by the Journalists for the Future got the first prize and a silver statue in public journalism nomination of NaNe Journalism Awards 2012 organized by the British Council Armenia. Available here.

The “Access Zone or e-Armenia” book has been published by the Journalists for the Future NGO.  It is about the impact of the Internet on the political and electoral processes in Armenia in the recent 5 years, the internal and external challenges threatening the security of websites, cyber wars, transformations of Armenian media, etc. 

The book presents also the “Code of Ethics of Online Journalist” proposed by the Journalists for the Future NGO. Publication of the Code aims to promote the raise of media literacy among those who spread public information on the internet. 

The “Access Zone or e-Armenia” book has been published by the Journalists for the Future NGO within the framework of the “Informed voter” project supported by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Office in Yerevan and the Department of State Public Affairs Section.

The book will be distributed among students specializing in journalism, telecommunication, information technologies, as well as among lecturers, journalists and citizens interested in this field.

Anushik Avetyan, reporter of Ditaket.am belonging to the “Journalists for the Future” NGO, won the first prize in the category of citizen report in Na/Ne annual media award. Besides the certificate, Anushik also won a silver statue.

Anushik’s victorious work consists of her own views and thoughts. In her article she wrote about how the society influences on a female’s life in Armenia. Anushik speaks about the stereotypes that are present in the society and prevent women from being active in the public life and even from making their own decisions. You can read the article here.

This year the Fifth Anniversary Edition of the Na/Ne media competition contained 7 categories. More than 250 works of 143 journalists competed in the following categories: TV program, Radio program, Printed article, Online article, Citizen report/Blog article, Photo report, Commercial advertisement.  A Na/Ne silver statue and money award were meant for the first place of each category, and certificate and money award were meant for the second and third place. There were thematic awards, as well, the winners of which were awarded with money.

The “Access Zone or e-Armenia” book’s presentation took place today, on February 11. The book has been published by the Journalists for the Future NGO.  It is about the impact of the Internet on the political and electoral processes in Armenia in the recent years, the internal and external challenges threatening the security of websites, cyber wars, transformations of Armenian media, etc. Suren Deheryan, president of the Journalists for the Future NGO, as well as the book editor, is sure that governmental initiatives and continuous investments are needed to develop the infrastructure of the Web services in Armenia.

“It can no longer be considered enough to use the Internet for e-mail or for having a page in a social network. Even the spread of the Internet all over the country is not sufficient to be considered as a country with e-society,” says Deheryan and adds that, “this boundless space may provide stability, competitiveness and development of various sectors for Armenia with two closed borders.”

The book presents also the “Code of Ethics of Online Journalist” proposed by the Journalists for the Future NGO. Publication of the Code aims to promote the raise of media literacy among those who spread public information on the internet.

Փետրվարի 11-ին տեղի ունեցավ «Ազատ գոտի կամ էլ. Հայաստան» գրքի շնորհանդեսը, որը հրատարակել է «Լրագրողներ հանուն ապագայի» ՀԿ-ն: Գրքում զետեղված լրագրողական ուսումնասիրությունները վերաբերում են Հայաստանում վերջին 5 տարիներին քաղաքական և ընտրական գործընթացներում համացանցի ազդեցությանը, կայքերի անվտանգությանը սպառնացող ներքին և արտաքին մարտահրավերներին, ցանցային պատերազմներին, լրատվամիջոցների փոխակերպմանը և այլն: Այլ խոսքով` գիրքն այն մասին է, թե ինչպես է համացանցի տարածումը Հայաստանում փոխել առօրյա կյանքի կառուցվածքը:

«Լրագրողներ հանուն ապագայի» նախագահ Սուրեն Դեհերյանը, ով նաև գրքի խմբագիրն է, միջոցառմանը նշեց, որ անհրաժեշտ են պետական նախաձեռնություններ և շարունակական ներդրումներ վիրտուալ Հայաստանում ցանցային ծառայությունների ենթակառուցվածքը զարգացնելու համար:

«Այլևս համացանցն օգտագործել միայն էլեկտրոնային փոստի կամ սոցիալական ցանցում էջ ունենալու համար չի կարող բավարար համարվել: Անգամ համացանցի տարածումը ողջ հանրապետությունում բավարար չէ էլեկտրոնային հասարակություն ունեցող երկիր համարվելու համար»,- ասում է Դեհերյանը և ավելացնում, որ «երկու կողմից փակ սահմաններ ունեցող Հայաստանի համար այս անսահման տարածությունը կարող է կայունություն, մրցունակություն և զարգացում ապահովել տարբեր ոլորտներում»:

The developing of online media is becoming one of the most important questions in any country. More than one third of Armenian population now uses the Internet and this means that the Armenian content, the Internet contains, will have great importance in the course of time and it will influence on the opinion and position of any citizan of Republic of Armenia. By saying content we mean the available information in the Internet that is closely connected with Armenia and Armenians, no matter whether it is Armenian or a foreign language.

In 2012 “Journalists for the Future” NGO organized two experimental studies for the tendency of the content in the Armenian sphere of the Internet and for understanding the existing problems. Such kinds of studies have never been organized before.

One of the studied is “Monitoring of Armenian Online Media Coverage of May 6, 2012 Elections to RA National Assembly” which had the aim to establish the process of work done by online media during the elections that is during pre-elections 3 months and post-elections 2 weeks (from February 6 up to May 20, overall 105 days). A monitoring like this was conducted for the first time in Armenia during the elections.

Ցանկացած երկրի համար էլեկտրոնային բովանդակության զարգացման խնդիրը տարեցտարի դառնում է կարևորագույն հարցերից մեկը: Հայաստանի բնակչության մեկ երրորդից ավելին այս պահին արդեն օգտվում է համացանցից, իսկ դա նշանակում է համացանցում առկա հայերեն բովանդակությունը, որն իր ազդեցությունն է ունենալու երկրի քաղաքացու կարծիքի և դիրքորոշման ձևավորման վրա, ժամանակի ընթացքում միայն առավել մեծ նշանակություն կունենա: Տեղական քոնթենթ (կամ բովանդակություն) եզրի տակ մենք հասկանում ենք մայրենի կամ օտար լեզուներով ինտերնետում հասանելի տեղեկատվություն, որն անմիջական առնչություն ունի Հայաստանի և հայ ժողովրդի հետ:

Համացանցի հայկական տիրությում բովանդակության միտումների և առկա խնդիրների մասին պատկերացում կազմելու համար «Լրագրողներ հանուն աագայի» ՀԿ-ը 2012 թ-ին նախաձեռնեց երկու փորձարարական հետազոտություններ, ինչպիսիք երբևէ չէին իրականացվել:

Դրանցից էր «Հայկական առցանց ԶԼՄ-ների դիտարկումը 2012թ. մայիսի 6-ի ԱԺ ընտրությունների վերաբերյալ» խորագրով ուսումնասիրությունը, որի նպատակն է արձանագրել հայաստանյան առցանց ԶԼՄ-ի աշխատանքային գործընթացը ընտրություններին վերաբերող լուսաբանումների տեսանկյունից` նախընտրական 3 ամիսների և հետընտրական 2 շաբաթների ընթացքում` փետրվարի 6-ից մայիսի 20­-ը ընկած ժամանակահատվածում (ընդհանուր 105 oր): Նման մշտադիտարկում Հայաստանում ընտրական գործընթացների ժամանակահատվածում իրականացվեց առաջին անգամ:

Ապրիլի 17-ին Ditaket.am մարզաին լրավական հարթակում տեղադրվեց հոդված Ախթալայի բնակիչ Մանեի մասին, ով առաջին կարգի հաշմանդամ է: 20-ամյա Մանեն շատ է սիրում կարդալ և ստեղծագործել: Նա իր մտքերն ու հույզերը հանձնում է թղթին: Ցավոք իր գրած բանաստեղծությունների միակ ընթերցողը մայրն է և հազվադեպ դեպքերում՝ իրենց տուն այցելած հյուրերը: Ditaket.am կայքում տեղադրված հոդվածում (տես` այստեղ) Մանեի մայրը նշել էր, որ աղջիկը չունի հաշմանդամի անվասայլակ, սակայն Մանեն այլ երազանք ուներ. «Շատ կցանկանայի համակարգիչ ունենալ, բայց գիտեմ, որ դա անհնար է, մենք այն գնելու հնարավորություն երբեք չենք ունենա»,- ասել էր նա:
