Gurjaani TV has launched the rebroadcasting of Gurjaani Municipality Sakrebulo sittings. The Power of the Powerless project is being funded by the Open Society Georgia Foundation. Within the framework of the project an analytical talk show the Power of the Powerless is being on.

The Sakrebulo sitting was first aired live on November 3. Within a year all the Sakrebulo sittings, which are not closed, will be rebroadcast live. The decisions reached at the sitting will be discussed at the Power of the Powerless talk show with the guest invited to the studio.

Reporters Without Borders has learned that blogger Mehdi Khazali was released on bail of 200 million toman (150 euros) on 12 November pending trial. The son of Ayatollah Abolghasem Khazali, an influential member of the Council of Guardians of the Iranian Constitution for the past 30 years, he was arrested on 13 October after responding to a summons to report to the Tehran prosecutor’s office

He is charged with “activities contrary to national security” and “publishing false information aimed at disrupting public order.” He had been very critical of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the government on his website Baran (http://www.drkhazali.com/) for the past year.

Ankara. November 15 – Journalist and publishing editor are sued in Turkey

Armenia Today reports that the Istambul court aroused a case against the reporter of Turkish newspaper “Taraf” Neshe Duzel and the publishing editor Adnan Demir. The acusation of the Istambul public prosecutor sounds as “propaganda of an armed terroristic organization. They may be sued for 7,5 years.

The cause of the case is the interview of Neshe Duzel with Kurdistan society Union leaders Zubeyr Aydar and Remzi Karal in Brussels.

According to the prosecutor Hakan Karaali’s words, “the article of Duzel justified in the eyes of the reader the declaration of the “separatist organization” to violations and terrorism:, says “Taraf”. The prosecutor also cited the 10th article of the European convention whicht says that the freedom of speach can be limited to protect national security, teritorrial integrity of the country or to restore public order, to prevent crime: “I did not agitate terroristic organization, just the opposite, I support open policy”, – said Duzel in the court and added, that today the Turkish authorities negotiate with that so called “terroristic organization”.

Ինչպես հայտնում է Armenia Today-ը, Ստամբուլի դատարանը քրեական գործ է հարուցել թուրքական “Թարաֆ” թերթի թղթակցուհի Նեշե Դյուզելի և թողարկող խմբագիր Ադնան Դեմիրի հանդեպ հակաահաբեկչության հոդվածով: Ստամբուլի գլխավոր դատախազի մեղադրական եզրակացության համաձայն` լրագրողների մեղադրանքը հնչում է “զինված ահաբեկչական կազմակերպության պրոպագանդա”: Նրանց սպառնում է 7.5 տարվա ազատազրկում:
