Հինգշաբթի երեկոյան տեղի ունեցավ Լարրի Քինգի վերջին շոուն: Հրաժեշտի հաղորդումը լի էր տարատեսակ անակնկալներով հանրահայտ հաղորդավարի համար: «Larry King Live»-ին հինգշաբթի հյուրընկալվել էին բազմաթիվ հայտնի մարդիկ, ովքեր արդեն եղել էին այստեղ հյուր և ովքեր ցանկանում էին ներկա լինել Լարրի Քինգի վերջին հաղորդմանը: Նրանց թվում էր նաև նախկին ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Բիլլ Քլինթոնը, որն արդեն 29-րդ անգամ էր հրավիրվում Լարրի Քինգի հաղորդմանը:

Դեկտեմբերի 15-ին «Մտածենք միմյանց մասին» մեդիա մրցույթի հաղթողները (լրագրողներ, որոնք գրում են սոցիալական թեմաներով) պարգևատրվել են: Լրագրողներն ստացել են մրցանակներ և վկայագրեր լավագույն հոդվածների, հեռուստատեսային և ռադիոնյութերի, ինչպես նաև լուսանկարների համար:

«Մտածենք միմյանց մասին» մրցույթը 2006 թվականից կազմակերպվում է Քաղաքացիական հասարակական ինստիտուտի կողմից:

Մրցույթի նպատակն է բարելավել և խորացնել սոցիալական թեմաներով նյութերը:

Winners of Media Competition Titled “Let’s Care for Each Other” Awarded

On December 15 the winners (journalists working on social topics) of media competition titled “Let’s Care for Each Other” were awarded in the Event Hall. Journalists received prizes and diplomas for best articles, TV and radio stories and photos.

Competition Let’s Care for Each Other has been conducted since 2006 by Civil Society Institute.

The goal of the competition is to encourage better and deeper coverage of social issues.

Ernest Vardanyan’s Family: “Court Severe Verdict Reached Secretly of Mother”

Politologist, journalist Ernest Vardanyan’s family cannot understand what Ernest’s sin is and finally whose political order it is that he was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment charged with espionage and treason by the Supreme Court of the unrecognized Republic of Transnistria.

30-year-old Ernest Vardanyan’s cousin Lilit Aghekyan, who lives in Gyumri, told JNews that the 2-month long suit was absolutely closed, far from the eyes and ears of the relatives and the society. And even the court composition is unknown.

“We are unaware of the charge brought against, of one who has kindled all this, of the reason why just Ernest has been chosen as a target. Yesterday we knew that a court session has taken place secretly even of his mother. She knew about only in the evening. She was told that her son has been sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment for a grave crime,” says Lilit Aghekyan.

Ernest’s family succeeded to get official information on his sentence from dnieter.ru which published a message released by the press service of Transnistria National Security on Ernest’s 15 years of imprisonment on December 16 under a strict regime.

Չճանաչված Մերձդնեստրյան հանրապետությունում լրտեսության ու պետական դավաճանության մեղադրանքով երեկ 15 տարվա ազատազրկման դատապարտված հայազգի քաղաքագետ-լրագրող Էռնեստ Վարդանյանի հարազատներն այդպես էլ չեն հասկանում, թե ո՞րն էր Էռնեստի մեղքը, և ի վերջո ո՞ւմ քաղաքական պատվերն էր սա:

30-ամյա Էռնեստ Վարդանյանի մորաքրոջ դուստր Լիլիթ Աղեկյանը, ով բնակվոմ է Գյումրիում, JNews-ին տեղեկացրեց, որ երկու ամիս տևած դատական պրոցեսը եղել է ամբողջովին փակ, հարազատների ու հանրության աչքերից ու ականջներից հեռու, հայտնի չէ անգամ դատարանի կազմը:

«Մենք տեղյակ չենք` ինչ մեղադրանք է առաջադրվել, ինչն է դրդապատճառը, ում ձեռքի գործն է սա, ինչի է ընտրվել հենց Էռնեստը: Երեկ մենք տեղեկացանք, որ տեղի է ունեցել դատական նիստ, որի մասին չի իմացել անգամ մայրը, տեղեկացել է միայն երեկոյան, իրեն հայտնել են, որ ծանրացուցիչ մեղադրանքով տղային դատապարտել են 15 տարվա ազատազրկման», – ասում է Լիլիթ Աղեկյանը

Դատապարտման մասին պաշտոնական տեղեկություն ընտանիքին հաջողվեց գտնել dniester.ru կայքում: Այստեղ էր տեղադրվել Մերձդնեստրի Ազգային անվտանգության մամլո ծառայության հաղորդագրությունը այն մասին, որ Էռնեստը դեկտեմբրի 16-ին դատապարտվել է 15 տարվա ազատազրկման և պիտի կրի այն խիստ ռեժիմով:

RIA «New Region»-ի վերլուծաբան Էռնեստ Վարդանյանը դատապարտվել է 15 տարվա ազատազրկման առանց գույքի առգրավման:

Ինչպես հայտնում է Մերձդնեստրի հանրապետության Ազգային անվտանգության նախարարության մամլո ծառայությունը` դատավճիռը կայացվել է դեկտեմբերի 16-ին Գերագույն դատարանի կողմից: Լրագրողը մեղադրվում է Մոլդովայի հանրապետության օգտին լրտեսական գործունեության մեջ:

Ծնունդով գյումրեցի Վարդանյանը, լինելով Մոլդովայի քաղաքացի, ձերբակալվել է Մերձդնեստրյան հանրապետության անվտանգության ծառայության կողմից ապրիլի 7-ի երեկոյան` «դավաճանություն» մեղադրանքով:

Ապրիլի 21-ին Մոլդովայում Եվրամիության առաքելության ղեկավարները հայտարարարություն տարածեցին իրենց անհագստության մասին` Մերձդնեստրյան կառավարության կողմից Էռնեստ Վարդանյանի ձերբակալման վերաբերյալ:

Journalist Ernest Vardanyan Sentenced to 15 years in Prison in Transnistria

Observer of RIA “New Region” Ernest Vardanyan, Armenian origin, sentenced to 15 years in prison without confiscation of property to be served in the colony.

As the press service of the Ministry of State Security of the unrecognized Republic of Transnistria, the sentence was handed down on December 16, 2010 Supreme Court of the region. The journalist is accused of spying for the Republic of Moldova.

The report said that “in accordance with Art. 271 CC PMR” Treason, “the court found him guilty and sentenced to 15 years in prison without confiscation of property to be served in the colony,” sends Omega.

Journalist Ernest Vardanyan, a Moldovan citizen, was arrested by the security forces of Transnistria in the evening of April 7 on charges of “treason.”

April 21, the heads of missions of the European Union in Moldova signed a joint statement expressing concern over the actions of self-proclaimed Transnistrian authorities in relation to the journalist Ernest Vardanyan, arrested by Transnistrian security services.

The Moldovan authorities have not responded to the imposition of a journalist in Tiraspol sentence.

Out of Air: “A1+” Deprived of Rebroadcast for 13th Time

Today, in TV licensing competition “A1+” lost with “ArmNews” TV Company that had submitted an application for the same frequency. This is the 13th defeat of “A1+” since April 2, 2002.

Another beaten TV Company of the same competition among 20 national and capital TV companies “struggling” for 18 frequencies is “ALM”, which is 8 points behind its opponent “Yerevan” channel.

Before the results’ publication there were opinions that the competition is of conditional character, as besides 2 frequencies all the other 16 were applied for only by one TV channel. After the assessments of the National Commission on Television and Radio (NCTR) this opinion became a conviction for many.

7 out of the 8 members of the National Commission on Television and Radio assessed 0 point to the application submitted by “A1+” owner Meltex LLC. Only 1 member, the executive director of MediaMax News Agency Ara Tadevosyan assessed 2 points. Opponent of “A1+” TV channel “ArmNews” received 44 points which means that the channel will remain on air.

Չորեքշաբթի օրը Facebook սոցիալական ցանցի հիմնադիր և տնօրեն Մարկ Ցուկերբերգը «Time» ամսագրի կողմից ստացել է 2010 թվականի «Տարվա մարդ» մրցանակը: «Time»-ը «Տարվա մարդ» է համարում այն անձին, ով բացասական կամ դրական իմաստով իր գործունեությամբ ազդել է տարվա իրադարձությունների վրա: «Այս տարի նրանք անցան 500 միլիոն բաժանորդի սահմանագիծը: Facebook-ը փոփոխության է ենթարկում մեր կյանքը: Մոլորակի յուրաքանչյուր 10-րդ անձը գրանցված է ցանցում`չհաշված Չինաստանը: Այստեղ ամեն 5-րդն է օգտվում Facebook-ից», – հանդիսավոր արարողության ժամանակ ասել է «Time»-ի գլխավոր խմբագիր Ռիչարդ Շտենգելը:

Armenia: New Rebuff to Broadcaster:
Authorities Deny License for Critical Voice Despite Court Judgment

(New York) – Armenia has denied a broadcast license to an independent television station, A1+, despite a European Court of Human Rights judgment that previous denials violated freedom of expression, Human Rights Watch said today.

“Today’s decision is another setback for freedom of expression and information in Armenia,” said Giorgi Gogia, South Caucasus researcher at Human Rights Watch. “It’s clear that keeping a critic off the air is more important to this government than its international legal obligations.”

A1+, an independent station well-known for its criticism of government policy, was taken off the air in 2002 after its license was rescinded, but continued to operate a popular news website and online television station. Since then it had made 12 unsuccessful applications for a new broadcast license.

On December 16, 2010, the National Commission on Television and Radio (NCTR), the body in charge of issuing broadcasting licenses in Armenia, denied A1+ station’s application for the 13th time. The commission is staffed entirely with presidential appointees.
